One Small Step

Dear Diary,
Today I ate my weight in chocolates...

No, not that kind of food diary. Now we all know you should be logging your food on the nutrition pages anyway, but we understand that some of you have problems with it, (hopefully by this point all issues have been resolved). However, if for whatever reason you are not logging on the site. We’d like you to at least keep track in some other way.

In fact, a recent study featured in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine showed that by keeping a food journal you can double your chance of weight loss.

The optimum way is with the nutrition pages which will calculate calories in verses calories out. However, for whatever reason you have for not logging on the nutrition pages, you should at least keep a running tally of all the food and drink you’ve consumed through out the day.

And yes, we mean everything, even the free Frappuccino shot they handed you as you passed Starbucks. Most of us don’t realize all the food we consume thought the day, so by writing it down you can truly see what you diet consists of and if it’s as healthy as you think.

The simple act of writing all you consume down has a very positive affect on what and how much you eat, since you know you’re going to have to look at it on the paper in front of you.
