Sandwiches Re-wrapped

Ahhh the rustle of the brown paper bag, the crackle of tin foil wrapped around a plain sandwich made just how you like it. Doesn’t it just take you back when mum packed you a nice nutritious lunch? You can have that again because this week we’re taking weight off your body and putting it back in your wallet.

After the other week’s special "Sandwiches Unwrapped" showcasing hidden fats, salt and unhygienic packing conditions, on Channel Four, now’s a good time to make your own...

Would you really put both butter and mayo on a chicken sandwich? Why not skip them both and use tastier and fat and calorie free mustard? Speaking of chicken, if you make it yourself you know you’re using fresh wholesome chicken breast as opposed to some kind of processed mess.

Instead of crisps throw in some carrots and red peppers and a nice pot of yoghurt and fruit for a snack, it’s cost a fraction of both money and calories.

Or, if you're really ready for a healthy lunch make yourself a big ole salad! Just remember not to add dressing before you eat it and to separately pack ingredients (greens in one, wet stuff i.e. beets, artichoke hearts, etc. in another) so your salad stays crispy, fresh and delicious. Bon Appetit!
