HOME-MADE HAMBURGERS

Serves 4. Serve them in wholemeal pitta breads rather than buns to reduce the calories and make sure you have a large and lucious salad to match.

Ingredients:
2450g extra lean minced beef
1 egg yolk
1 onion, very finely chopped
1/2 tsp salt
Freshly ground pepper (to taste)

How To:

  • Mix together the beef and onion in a large bowl
  • Add the egg yolk to bind the mixture together
  • Season well and shape into 4 burgers (approximately 1 inch thick)
  • Cook over hot barbecue coals (or under a grill) for approximately 10 minutes on each side.
